Parallel Mirror is the result of experiments with reflection and studies of optical illusion. It was initially conceived as part of the interior of a hotel project I recently worked on, inspired by Op Art and the work of its pioneer, Victor Vasarely.
The physics of optical perception conditions the way I design the object to interact with its surroundings, and how the space influences the object. The behaviour of reflection is unpredictable. Analysis through physics provides insight, anticipation stimulates the imagination and creativity, but the result remains continuously surprising.
The front pane of the specialist gradient mirror interacts with the rear pane of the silver mirror, creating a dual-reflection, distortion and infinity effect enhanced by integrated lighting. The deliberately raw detailing and finish of the steel brackets allow the main focus to remain on the optical illusion.

TABLE OF POWER is a group exhibition by Show Not Show with guest exhibitors.
At the heart of the exhibition stands a long table, creating the setting for the official DDW opening dinner for the international press - bringing together the people who influence what is seen, discussed and remembered in the design world.
Inspired by Jacqueline Hassink’s The Table of Power, the exhibition transforms the table from a symbol of institutional power into a platform for participation and interpretation.
